SAFAL Steel Cape Town Is Hiring a General Worker — Entry Level Production Role

SAFAL Steel Cape Town is looking for a General Worker on a fixed-term contract to support production operations at their Cape Town facility. The role reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is focused on the stacking, packing, strapping and storage of raw materials and finished goods. Experience of 0 to 2 years is fine — they are looking for someone physically capable, safety-conscious and willing to learn.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assisting machine operators with manual loading of mandrels and feeding materials into production machinery
• Manually wrapping, stacking, packing and strapping raw materials and finished goods per company procedures
• Attaching accurate product labels to finished products before dispatch
• Monitoring stock levels of dunnage, pallets, strapping and packaging materials
• Monitoring product quality and reporting defects or equipment faults to the Supervisor immediately
• Assisting with loading, unloading, sorting and transporting materials using approved handling techniques
• Participating in stock counts, inventory verification and training sessions
• Maintaining clean and hazard-free workstations at all times
• Operating a forklift where appropriately licensed and authorised
• Strictly complying with all HSEQ policies and wearing prescribed PPE at all times

Who Can Apply

• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Sciences — this is a firm requirement
• 0 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse or industrial environment
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks
• Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail
• Able to read, understand and follow work instructions
• Willing to work shifts, overtime and weekends when required
• Forklift licence or experience with production machinery or overhead cranes is an advantage
