Tsebo Solutions Group has opened applications for a 12-month Food and Beverage Learnership in Sandton, Gauteng. The programme runs at NQF Level 4 and is funded through discretionary SETA funding, meaning it is fully structured, nationally recognised, and costs you nothing to enter.

Tsebo operates across more than 14 African countries, managing catering, facilities, cleaning and pest control for major corporate clients. Getting a qualification through them carries weight with employers in the hospitality and catering space well beyond the learnership itself.

Who Can Apply

This programme is aimed at young South Africans who want to enter the formal hospitality industry. Requirements are straightforward:

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (certified copy required)
• Ability to read and write for Portfolio of Evidence submissions
• Willingness to commit to the full 12-month programme
• South African citizen with a valid RSA ID

You will spend the year learning both the theory and the hands-on side of working in a professional food and beverage environment. Topics covered include:

• Health, hygiene and professional appearance standards
• Communication and workplace relationships
• Cultural awareness when serving customers and working with colleagues
• Preparing and clearing areas for table service
• Table and drink service to industry standard
• Cleaning and restocking drinks machines and glassware
• Understanding sectors within hospitality, travel and tourism
