Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Be literate and functionally numerate
  • Possess basic knowledge of machinery
  • Be literate and functionally numerate
  • Reliable, honest, and motivated
  • Safety-conscious
  • Understanding safety protocols and mechanical basics is an advantage
  • Have a good eyesight, hearing and the ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds with construction job sites
  • Shows continuity in attendance
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure
  • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
  • Be able to work irregular hours which may include night work

About this role

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

Assist with performing daily pre-start inspection checks

Ensure that the workplace is cleaned regularly

Assist with general maintenance tasks on and around the plant

Maintain the cleanliness of the general working area

Maintaining safety standards and completing additional tasks as directed

Report any general elementary problems to his/her immediate supervisor

Must be able to carry out instructions given by your superior

Acknowledge that Management may allocate additional tasks when tasks cannot be completed on standard allocated job
